Sole Therapy working in a Covid-19 secure way
For both the safety of visiting clients and that of my family, there are some procedural changes on site (details below). The Association of Reflexologists Covid-19 Secure Workplace Policy Logo is displayed and is there to offer clients the assurance that I am following Government guidelines and the AoR Covid-19 Secure Workplace Policy for working responsibly and safely, to minimise risk during these unprecedented times.
Clients can be assured that I will:

If there is anything you are unsure about please do contact me to discuss. Even with the adaptations I have made, I remain confident that clients will still receive a wonderful hands on treatment for improved wellbeing. This is a time when our emotional and physical health definitely need some nurturing and support.

Clients can be assured that I will:
- Work within Governments Guidelines;
- Have prepared for and complied with the AoR Return to work document;
- Comply with the AoR Covid-19 Secure Hygiene Guidelines which details strict hygiene practices for the therapist (clients can request to see a full copy of these guidelines from me).
The changes that have been made include the following:
- I will contact clients before each appointment in order to complete a risk assessment to ascertain if it is appropriate for them to come for reflexology (virtual online treatments via Zoom may still be possible for these clients);
- Hand washing or hand sanitiser with a minimum of 60% alcohol, is available for clients to use when they arrive (and leave if they would like), and I will carry out strict hygiene measures;
- I will use dedicated work clothes for treatments;
- Treatment spacing – I will be allowing a minimum of 15 minutes between appointments to minimise contact between clients;
- Treatment length – I need to adhere to treatment length of 60-70min to ensure I have cleaning time and minimise potential contact between clients;
- Treatment types – I am unable to carry out hand reflexology at this time in accordance with AoR guidelines, as this practice reduces the distance between me and the client;
- Cleaning – coverings to furniture/soft furnishings will all be changed and any surfaces that have been touched to be cleaned between each client, floors are also washed between clients;
- Facial coverings - I will be wearing a face mask/covering and I require anyone coming into Sole Therapy premises to wear one too – a scarf is fine (ideally double layer cotton);
- Clean sheets will cover the treatment chair and pillow cases cover the cushions – these will all be changed along with the treatment towels for each client;
- A transparent screen is used to provide further protection. This is placed between the client and myself at the start of the consultation;
- Toilet facilities – the toilet facilities are able to be used, but individual cloths are available for drying hands rather than a hand towel;
- Furnishings – the treatment room has been cleared of many non-essential items to allow for easier cleaning;
- A cleaning checklist will be on display to show when cleaning has taken place.
Clients are now required to:
- Complete a 6 question risk assessment before each treatment. I will contact clients regarding this a minimum of 24 hours before their appointment; I am unable to treat clients who present a Covid-19 risk. I am now allowed to treat clients which are deemed as 'vulnerable' or ‘extremely vulnerable and shielding’ (those who were notified of this in an NHS letter/contacted by their GP) subject to the outcome of the risk assessment;
- Clients who arrive early must please wait in their car/on the drive until their treatment time. I am sorry but at this time I am unable to use the hallway for clients to wait;
- Clients must come alone, unless the appointment is for a child or vulnerable adult. In this instance, one additional parent/carer can attend the session ;
- On arrival, clients should declare if anything has changed with their own health or within their family unit;
- Wash hands (or use hand sanitiser provided) on arrival;
- Bring and wear their own face covering;
- Bring their own bottle of water, as currently I am unable to offer you a drink onsite;
- Bring their own blanket (if you would like to use one);
- Place their belongings in the lidded box provided;
- Inform me if they develop symptoms of Covid-19;
- Pay via card / contactless payment if possible.

Video call treatments
To ensure I can support clients who do not feel ready, or who are unable to attend in person, I will continue to offer video sessions. These sessions proved to be very effective in helping clients during lockdown, and I felt it only right to continue to offer this service. Sessions can be focused upon specific health needs, to reduce stress and anxiety, or to boost the immune system and are:
* 40 minutes of fully guided hand reflexology session via Zoom. At the end of the session you will have had a tailored session whilst we are on the call.
Baby and Toddler Reflex courses can also be run via video link, so that parents can learn techniques to help support their children’s health. Learning reflexology techniques to comfort and calm, establish a strong immune system, relieve digestive problems, reduce pain and aid sleep.
Price for a 40 min session Zoom treatment is £35.
